In what should come as no surprise, Warner Bros. has announced the official release date for Jason Momoa's "Aquaman 2".

In just 67 days, James Wan’s epic underwater adaptation has grossed over $1 BILLION dollars worldwide, all while commanding a top five domestic box office finish seven consecutive weeks.

Sources say Aquaman scribe, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will once again write the screenplay with James Wan negotiating his return as producer. It's still a toss up whether Wan will find time out of his busy schedule to direct WB’s follow-up. This given his planned commitments producing the recently announced "Trench" spin-off, "The Conjuring 3," "The Crooked Man," "The Tommyknockers," and "Mortal Combat" among a few other projects.

While we ride out 2022’s release, fans will turn their attention to Warner Bros. and DC’s slightly revised ‘universe’ featuring new visions, characters, and stories that may or may not connect with Zack Snyder’s DCEU holdovers, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, The Flash, and Aquaman.

Shazam! is slated to open April 5, followed by Todd Phillips’ Joker on October 4. We know Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) opens On February 7, 2020 with Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 following on June 6, 2020. That leaves three DC films for 2021 (at the moment) including DC Super Pets (May 21, 2021), Matt Reeves The Batman (June 25, 2021) and James Gunn's The Suicide Squad (Aug. 6, 2021).

And that’s not including whatever will come about with Ezra Miller’s Flashpoint and The Henry Cavill-less Superman.
