Batman Sidekick Nightwing Getting a Solo Film, 'Lego Batman Movie' Director in Talks
Warner Bros. is developing more projects than it can handle, it seems at times. Now, the latest one will reportedly center on Nightwing, the former Robin and Gotham City superhero known by day as Dick Grayson. The Lego Batman Movie director Chris McKay is in talks to direct.
The Accountant scribe Bill Dubuque is penning the screenplay, and the project will slot somewhere into the DCEU that was born with 2013's Man of Steel. It joins a number of films without release dates, such as Suicide Squad 2, Gotham City Sirens, The Batman, a two-part Shazam/Black Adam story starring Dwayne Johnson, and solo films on The Flash and Cyborg.
Films that have a release date so far are Wonder Woman (June 2), Justice League (November 17) and Aquaman (October 5, 2018).
The Lego Batman Movie marked McKay's feature film debut, and has been incredible successful. He was the animation co-director on The Lego Movie.
