Batman v Superman Official Weekend Box Office Numbers are Troubling
Batman v Superman took a remarkable fall, lower than estimates initially tipped, to crash 69% from its $166 million debut.
The film earned $51.8 million on Sunday, short of its expected $52.4. Most major releases fall somewhere upward of 50% after opening weekend, though 69% is a dramatic topple. Many estimates had it at a roughly 60% fall.
After two weeks of domestic release, the film has earned a comforting $260.9 million, though Warner Bros. is under plenty of pressure to see this thing catapult into something big.
