Benedict Wong Talks About His Character's Different Direction in Doctor Strange.

NadiaA71 NadiaA71 After the controversy surrounding the casting of Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One in Doctor Strange, it looks like Marvel is making another change with another character from the comic book.

Actor Benedict Wong (Prometheus, The Martian) recently shared some details of his character, Wong, in the upcoming Marvel film. In the original comic version, his character is Doctor Strange's valet and sidekick as well as a martial arts master, but the actor, speaking to Den of Geek, stated that it will be different in the movie.

"I'm certainly not going to be the tea-making manservant" Wong said "We are taking a different direction. He's more of a drill sergeant. There isn't any martial arts for Wong in Doctor Strange actually, he's more of a drill sergeant of Kamar-Taj. He's one of the masters of sorcery" (Kamar-Taj, is the Tibetan city where The Ancient One meets and trains Doctor Strange)

It is not clear yet how prominent is Wong's role in this film but the deviation from the comic book character is certainly an interesting change.

Doctor Strange will open in November 4th.
