Bruce Willis' New Action Movie Shuts Down Due to Financial Problems

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong Production has been shut down on Bruce Willis' new action-thriller 'Wake' citing financial problems during shooting in Cleveland.

"Benaroya Pictures is working quickly to remedy the delay in production on the feature film ‘Wake,’ and we are optimistic we will resume principal photography in approximately 2-3 weeks,” the company said in a statement.

John Pogue is directing the movie from a script written by Chris Borrelli. The producers of 'Wake' are Michael Benaroya of Benaroya Pictures, Tobin Armbrust, David Alpert and Chris Cowles.

The story of the movies centres on Willis who plays a sociopath who returns to his childhood home on a remote island for his brother’s wake. When the island comes under siege, he must save the family that banished him from his ancestral home years ago.

“It is our understanding that they are trying to find the remaining funds to complete the film,” the Greater Cleveland Film Commission said. “So far their experience in Cleveland has been very positive and they hope to return to Cleveland very soon.”
