Christian Bale's Injured Knee Halts Production on 'Deep Blue Good-by'

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong 20th Century Fox has delayed production on its Travis McGee pic The Deep Blue Good-by after star Christian Bale suffered a knee injury at his home in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood Reporter says Bale has reportedly torn his ACL which will take a few months of recovery. Production was set to start this summer but given the severity of his injury, Fox has halted production until he has fully recovered.

Written by MacDonald in 1964, The Deep Blue Good-by is the first in a series of 21 books that followed Travis McGee (Bale), a self-described “salvage consultant” who recovers others’ property for a fee and along the way gets into trouble fighting bad guys and wooing women. Chernin Entertainment is producing with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran through Appian Way along with Amy Robinson.
