Christoph Waltz
From obscurity to a two-time Oscar winner within a matter of years. Christoph Waltz is an actor of high quality.
Plucked from out of nowhere by Quentin Tarantino back in 2009 to star in his war drama, Inglourious Basterds, Waltz was thrust into the limelight but hit the ground running. His portrayal of Col. Hans Landa is one of the best on-screen performances of the last 10 years and was not surprising that the Academy awarded him the Best Supporting Actor gong at the 82nd Academy Awards.
He repeated the feat two years later as he picked up yet another Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Tarantino's slavery drama, Django Unchained.
Albeit, Waltz has been in his fair share of drab films (The Green Hornet, The Three Musketeers) but there is no mistaking his fine ability of playing multi-layered, quick tongued, ruthless "bad guys" — which is why he is still on a great run of form.
