Creator Says We Might See Sabrina the Teenage Witch in Season 1 of 'Riverdale'
The CW's Riverdale is a visually impressive new series, though I found the show isn't targeted toward my demographic. That being said, it has demonstrated a willingness to be both pulpy and mysterious. The pilot featured Josie and the Pussycats, who showed up in 1963 for comic book readers.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch, who showed up in Archie's Madhouse #22, might just be making an appearance as well, so says the show's creator Robert Aguirre-Sacasa in an interview with The Wrap.
“We could [see her in Season 1],” he said in the interview. "As I say, never say never, but it’s certainly within the realm of possibility.” Slotting her into a world in which magic seems out of place is difficult. Aguirre-Sacasa would want to introduce her in a "way that's not supernatural." But, as he admits, she's a witch.
The series airs on Thursdays on The CW.
