Dan Sackheim to Direct and Eecutive Produce 'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan'
Dan Sackheim of The American's fame has taken up Producing Director and Executive Producing duties on Amazon's upcoming series, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. Sackheim will direct a number of episodes of the series, which comes from Carlton Cuse and writer Graham Roland.
The series will act as a reinvention of the character, adding a modern sensibility to the character and story. It will star John Krasinski and Abbie Cornish, and track Ryan's rise as an up and coming CIA analyst thrown into a dangerous field assignment for the first time.
The Imitation Game and Passengers director Morten Tyldum is directing the pilot episode. Sackheim's experience runs deeper than The Americans, extending to directing credits for Game of Thrones, The Leftovers, Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead, The Man in the High Castle, and Ozark.
