Details on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's New Droid

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter Tonight Rogue One will have a trailer premiere during the Olympics at primetime. For now let's learn about Rogue One's droid K-2SO.

Alan Tudyk, K-2SO motion capture actor discussed details about him for Entertainment Weekly. K-2SO aka Kaytoo is a way different droid from the Star Wars droids of the past. He is a unfiltered and he can say insulting things if they are true says Tudyk.

K-2SO is a very tall droid at seven feet. He use to be a security droid for the Empire (The Empire has many security droids) before being reprogrammed by the Rebel Alliance, mostly by Captain Cassian Andor who is played by Diego Luna. This gives the two a natural relationship. Kaytoo can still follow orders though.

Tudyk teases Kaytoo will have a bittersweet scene, which is surprising because he isn't a "overly emotional" character.

Kaytoo droids were not apart of the original Star Wars trilogy. Maybe the droids fates will be determined by the end of Rogue One?

K-2SO and the rest of the Rebel Alliance in Rogue One hits the theaters December 16.
