Disney in Early Negotiations with Jared Leto to Star in 'Tron 3'
After recent comments suggesting there's a story to tell in the Tron world, Disney is in early talks with Jared Leto to star in and produce a live-action Tron 3. There's no writer on board, although assuming the project moves forward Justin Springer will produce alongside Emma Ludbrook on some level.
The film has been in development since 2010's Tron Legacy, directed by Joseph Kosinski. It gross $400 million worldwide, and recently had a special screening at which the director spoke about the undead project, which you can read about here.
Tron: Legacy was a sequel to the 1982 film that starred Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner inside a computer world. Garret hedlund played Bridges' son in the sequel.
