First Image of New Samurai Jack Revealed.
During the Annecy International Animation Festival, Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky revealed the first artwork of the upcoming fifth season of Samurai Jack.
The series which had a four season run in the early 2000s had garnered many loyal fans and late last year Adult Swim released a short teaser video announcing the return of this series after it's long hiatus.
The story of Samurai Jack is that of the a samurai warrior who traveled into the future to defeat his arch-enemy, the demon Aku. The new Samurai Jack image (via Cartoonbrew) have a decidedly more darker tone perhaps catering to more grown-up fans.
Details are scarce at this moment. Tartakovsky will return as executive producer and many hope that Phill Lamarr the voice actor for Jack will also return. Unfortunately, Mako Iwamatsu, who voiced Aku have passed away in 2006.
No news yet as to when this new series will air but it s expected to premiere later this year on Adult Swim.
