Fox's X-Men Project from 'Burn Notice' Creator to Have Ties to the Film Franchise
While producer Laura Shuler has denied that Legion will connect to the broader X-Men universe, the previously announced Fox X-Men project, hailing from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, will feel more of a part of that larger world.
"Matt’s [series] is much more a part of just the world in terms of there are mutants, mutants are hated and there are Sentinels — though very different from what we’ve seen before. You feel like you’re here in the X-Men world." While Legion will have the government knowing about mutants but the public not, this new series will have a hateful public eye toward them.
From that brief description, it also sounds like the series would be set sometime during the Days of Future Past timeline, though hopefully we learn more about that soon. A rumour has been circling that the show focuses on two parents who are trying to protect their mutant children from the government.
The show has not been greenlit just yet.
