Freeform Orders New Seasons of 'Beyond' and 'The Fosters'by HaydnSpurrell
Freeform has given Beyond a second season order while The Fosters will be back for a fifth year, the network has announced. During a TCA panel, Freeform president took the cast and producers of Beyond by surprise when announcing the renewal.
"Our goal for launching ‘Beyond’ was to give the audience outstanding content in the way they want to watch it,” said president Tom Ascheim. “The response has far exceeded our greatest expectations, both quantitatively and qualitatively, and we can’t wait to bring more ‘Beyond’ to its growing fan base.”
Freeform offered the series, which launched on January 2, to fans across digital platforms for binge-watching purposes, a first for the network. So far, it has seen over 14 million viewers. Critically acclaimed family drama The Fosters, meanwhile, will return for a fifth season, which will see it cross the 100-episode mark. These will begin airing from Tuesday, January 31.
