Full Soundtrack Details Hint at a Release Date for Nicolas Winding Refn's 'The Neon Demon'

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell While Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon has been expected to arrive this Summer for some time now, Amazon Studios has offered our first real sense at when the film might arrive with the release of the official soundtrack.

A press release from Milan records has detailed the official soundtrack, that includes Cliff Martinez's original score as well as three original songs (featuring Sia, Julian Winding, and Sweet Tempest). It lists a release date of June 24 and July 8 digitally. The film can be expected to arrive between its France June 8 release date and the 24th in the U.S.

The film stars Starring Elle Fanning, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Jena Malone, Abbey Lee, and Bela Heathcoate in a film that details the journey of an aspiring model who moves to Los Angeles where her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who are committed to getting what she has.

Martinez recently described the film as such: “We describe the first half as a melodrama like Valley of The Dolls, and the second half is like Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It doesn’t seem to be a traditional horror film to me, but horror is the genre that it’s closest to. The first half of the film was kind of romantic so there’s a lot of romantic music. But then there’s some cold-blooded horror stuff too and I think could be really creepy.”
