ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter In Hulu's annual upfront presentation they revealed some great news.

Since Hulu's last upfront presentation they debuted their biggest show to date The Handmaid's Tale. Which skyrocketed the company into prestige TV conversation, and earned them several Emmy and Golden Globes. Hulu announced that they now have 20 million subscribers. Quite a leap since having 17 million subscribers in 2017. It was also revealed The Handmaid's Tale is Hulu's highest rated show. The show has already been renewed for a third season.

Hulu is trying to keep up its moment with George Clooney's Catch-22, Stephen King anthology Castle Rock, and Mindy Kaling's TV version for Four Weddings and a Funeral. Hulu CEO Randy Freer mentioned "energized the creative community around us."

Hulu has been evolving. Launching their live TV service last spring, and not to mention their partnership with HBO. The streaming network offers more than 75,000 episodes of television. Hulu also nabbed the exclusive rights to ABC's breakout hit The Good Doctor. South Park is the streamer's most watched show. Hulu consumers watched over 135 million hours of the animated comedy. Hulu consumer engagement has gone up more than 60 percent.

Hulu is continuing to create original content. Next up is along with Steven Spielberg and Warner Bros. Animation on a reimagining of Animaniacs.

Hulu will continue to evolve and compete in a world where Netflix keeps dominating. Hulu also has to worry about the shadow of Disney especially post Disney-Fox deal. Not to mention Amazon will continue to pump out content. On top of all that billion dollar giant Apple is preparing to launch their own service through Apple TV. So Hulu has its challenges ahead but for now they can celebrate the achievement of 20 million subscribers.
