IMAX to Produce Original Content for their Screens
With periods throughout the year where IMAX won't have new films on their screens (despite 2014 having 32 films take advantage of their screens), the company is taking steps toward ensuring that they can offer more to movie-goers, and more often.
The Wrap has reported that IMAX is looking at creating their own movies, as well as potentially allowing alternate programming in the future.
The company is currently talking to a host of potential partners, as well as filmmakers and TV producers in their attempt to delve further into these possibilities.
IMAX entertainment chief executive officer Greg Foster said "we want to provide the very best premium entertainment 52 weeks a year, and if creating it ourselves is the best way to do it, we're going to e excited about taking that step".
