It's official: "Bond 25" returns in 2019 and Craig's return a "done deal"

GregHarmon GregHarmon Managing Editor Perhaps Daniel Craig knows something we don't...

Good news first. According to a tweet from the verified James Bond Twitter account, MGM and Eon Productions announced the untitled "Bond 25" will hit US theaters on November 8, 2019, and earlier for UK/global audiences.

Bad news second. Truth be told, there is no bad news to report but the rest of the internet seems perplexed by this announcement despite no director or official announcement from resident 007, Daniel Craig. What we do know is Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli says 'Daniel has come around' and is confident Craig will fulfill the fourth and final film of his original contract.

[update 7/24] Brooks Barnes of The New York Times reports Mr. Craig’s return is a done deal, according to two people briefed on the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid conflicts with Eon and MGM.

With Spectre grossing $880 million worldwide, it's highly likely MGM and Eon will raise the ante on Craig's reported $17 million US (£15 million) - $44 million including endorsements - payday.

"Bond 25" will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who penned Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.

November 8, 2019 will mark four years since we got a Bond film. We have two more years to speculate who will direct "Bond 25." As far as Daniel Craig? Just give me "Joe Bang" and we can talk about Bond later.
