Dr. No
John Barry

John Barry

John Barry Prendergast, to give him his full name, is the guy who wrote the theme tune to the most famous spy in the world. Although, he wasn’t responsible for writing the original version of the Bond theme— he was responsible for giving it it’s catchy edge. Barry won a ton of Oscars for his work on such films as Born Free, The Lion In Winter, Out Of Africa and Dances With Wolves. He had a distinct ability of writing breathtaking orchestral pieces that could sweep you away during any film sequence. Sadly, John Barry passed away in January 2011 at the age of 77, but his legacy of iconic movie scores will live on.
