Nick Jonas and the rest of ‘Jumanji’s’ teens will return for Sony’s sequel 'JUMANJI 2'

GregHarmon GregHarmon Managing Editor It’s no surprise the gang is getting back together after Sony’s massive $900M+ global box office performance.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blain, and Morgan Turner will reprise their roles as Spencer, Bethany, 'Fridge', and Martha in Jake Kasdan’s “Jumanji” sequel!

Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, and Danny Glover are also confirmed, joining Jumanji’s returning jungle avatars played by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and the recently announced return of Nick Jonas.

Sony has yet to release plot details but the return of Welcome to the Jungle's core cast (sans Colin Hanks) could spell one of two plausible scenarios. The more 'fun' scenario could be a play off 1995's Jumanji, where Welcome to the Jungle’s digital avatars - Dr. Smolder Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson), Prof. Shelly Oberon (Jack Black), “Mouse” Finbar (Kevin Hart), Jefferson “Seaplane” McDonough (Nick Jonas), and Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan) - find themselves de-digitized into real life. Or, the most plausible scenario comes from any one of Welcome to the Jungle's reported alternative endings where, ultimately, Spencer (Alex Wolff), Bethany (Madison Iseman), Martha (Morgan Turner) and ‘Fridge’ (Ser’Darius Blain) find themselves sucked back into the game for an all new adventure.

"Jumanji 2" is scheduled to hit theaters one week before the release of Disney and LucasFilm’s Star Wars: Episode IX on December 13, 2019. Which, doesn’t seem like a tall order considering 2017’s Welcome to the Jungle hauled in an impressive $100M domestic open while trailing Star Wars: The Last Jedi by one week.

You down for this Jumanji sequel?
