'Jurassic World 3' Coming in 2021

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom comes out June 22. Universal Pictures already has their eyes set on a 2021 release date for the third installment.

Jurassic World 3 will be written by Colin Trevorrow, the director of 2015's Jurassic World and co-writer of Fallen Kingdom, and Pacific Rim Uprising writer Emily Carmichael. The studio has set a June 11, 2021 release date for the movie.

Colin Trevorrow will be returning as a executive producer alongside Steven Spielberg, who was the original filmmaker behind Jurassic Park. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are returning as producers.

There isn't much plot details yet but Carmichael and Trevorrow will work from a story that was planned by Trevorrow and his writing partner Derek Connolly. Carmichael co-wrote the upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising and almost entirely rewrote The Black Hole for Disney and director Joseph Kosinski.

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” says Trevorrow. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”

Jurassic World which starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, directed by J.A. Bayona roars into theaters June 22. Jurassic World 3 opens June 11, 2021.
