'Mad Max' Director George Miller Announced President of 2016 Cannes Film Festival Jury
After the huge success of his Oscar nominated movie Mad Max: Fury Road, director George Miller has been announced as the president of the jury for the 2016 Cannes Film Festival this May.
Along with various other press commitments throughout the festival, Miller and the other jurors will decide who wins this years Palme d'Or at the end of the festival.
"What an unmitigated delight! To be there in the middle of this storied festival at the unveiling of cinematic treasures from all over the planet," Miller said in a statement release. "To spend time in passionate discourse with fellow members of the jury. Such an honour. I’ll be there with bells on!"
At last years festival, Mad Max: Fury Road made a huge statement with critics and festival-goers. The action-packed film went on to be a hit with audiences worldwide and receive 10 Academy Award nominations. It is no surprise Cannes organisers have chosen Miller to spearhead this years jury.
The 2016 Cannes Film Festival takes place May 11-22.
