'Mad Max: Fury Road' Stunt Team Training for 'Aquaman' Production

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell The stunt team behind the insane action in 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road is set to make another splash; this time a literal one, as they start prepping for production on Aquaman in Australia. The news comes via Australia's 9 News, which aired a profile on stunt coordinator Keir Beck and his team, and in which it was revealed that the team will be on Aquaman.

Starring Jason Momoa, the solo picture has every chance of lifting the stigma off the aquatic hero's back. Beck said, on what his team will contribute to the film, "General stunt skills and fighting, if there is water sequences obviously being capable and competent in water."

With James Wan at the helm, and with his evident enthusiasm showing through in recent interviews, all the potential sits on top of the upcoming solo films in the DCEU by the sounds of it. Mostly free from the constraints of in-universe crossover, films like this and Wonder Woman may get to tell strong, standalone stories that may then stand out, and give Warner Bros. something to cheer (besides the box office success).

Aquaman is out July 27, 2018.
