Chris Pine filled with doubt as Kirk

For Chris Pine’s character, the new Star Trek is all about doubt and questioning the people around him. When captain Pike tells him “you can be great, but you’re not yet,” his confidence slowly starts to fade and in the whole film his ideals are tested.

His relationship with Spock is questioned as well. Two characters on the opposite side of the spectrum. Spock obeying the rules and doing everything as expected from him. While Kirk takes chances and sees no reason to follow silly protocols.
