The new film by Ron Howard is set to be a adrenaline rush like no other (excuse the pun). Set against the sexy backdrop of Formula One where money and girls flow like water, Howard throws us into the middle of 1976 Formula One World Championship where the heated rivalry between the methodical Niki Lauda and playboy James Hunt was in full throttle.

The 1976 World Championship is probably the most astonishing seasons in Formula One history. Niki Lauda and James Hunt where two drivers that took each race to the very limit at a time when the margin for error was very slim; one mistake and you’re dead.

With the success of Senna and Moneyball in recent years, Rush has the chance to join these two esteemed sport films, but only if it steers away from the typical Hollywood glamour and keeps it’s story gritty like the Lauda and Hunt rivalry truly was.
