Margot Robbie joins Suicide Squad and may be joined by Jared Leto
Collider is reporting that Margot Robbie has signed up for a role in Warner Bros. Suicide Squad movie which will be directed by End of Watch and Fury helmer, David Ayer.
Margot Robbie will be playing Harley Quinn, the girlfriend and partner-in-crime of the notorious super-villain, The Joker. For those who aren't quite as familiar with Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn is an essential character in the story. She began life as Harleen Quinzell, a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum who attempted to analyse the Joker. Then, the Joker manipulated her into an infatuation with him, leading to her joining him in a life of crime.
It is also being rumoured that the Oscar winning Jared Leto is being tipped for the role of the Joker. This would make a very interesting on-screen couple that could lead to a lot of interesting possibilities. Other names that have been linked with the movie include Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Cara Delavingne. Suicide Squad is scheduled for a 5th August 2016 release.
