Michael B. Jordan will star in Denzel Washington's drama 'Journal for Jordan'

GregHarmon GregHarmon Managing Editor Move over Nicholas Sparks.

Michael B. Jordan is a man in high demand these days.

The 32-year-old is currently wrapping production on Just Mercy co-starring Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson, and he is about to kick off production portraying Tom Clancy’s Navy Seal turned CIA operative - John Clark - in Without Remorse. Additionally, Jordan is set to star in Ryan Coogler’s biopic Wrong Answer and he is also producing and starring in Lionsgate’s John Wick-esque franchise The Silver Bear.

But wait, that’s not all!

Variety is reporting Jordan along with DENZEL WASHINGTON are pairing up for Sony’s ‘Journal for Jordan.’

The drama will mark Washington’s fourth directorial effort written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Virgil Williams (Mudbound). Sources say the story will revolve around the relationship between Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dana Canedy and First Sergeant Charles Monroe King along with their newborn son, Jordan. King was killed in Iraq in 2006, leaving behind a journal full of “poignant life lessons” for Jordan who was just seven months old at the time.

Sources did not confirm if Michael B. Jordan will play Charles Monroe, or Monroe and Canedy's son, Jordan. I could definitely see the latter scenario provided the timelines were adjusted to account for Jordan who is currently 16-years-old.

Either way, this project sounds fantastic. Bring on the tissues.

Jordan’s Outlier Society will co-produce along with Denzel Washington.
