Rosamund Pike Joins Christian Bale in 'The Deep Blue Good-by'

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong Although the Oscar for Best Leading Actress may have gone to Julianne Moore, Rosamund Pike is reaping the benefits of a great year after her star-making performance in David Fincher's Gone Girl.

Variety is reporting that Pike has signed up for a role alongside Academy Award winner Christian Bale (Best Supporting Actor, The Fighter) in James Marigold's 'The Deep Blue Good-by' which is based on the first 21 books by John D. MacDonald. Bale is playing Travis McGee — a salvage consultant who recovers stolen property for a fee, and has a knack for attracting trouble and women. Although not confirmed who she'll portray, it is expected that Pike will be the lead female in the movie, which is expected to be the role of Lois.

The script comes from Dennis Lehane who wrote Shutter Island with rewrites by Scott Frank. 'The Deep Blue Good-by' will be produced by Jennifer Davisson-Killoran, Amy Robinson nd Leonardo DiCaprio, along with Chernin Entertainment.
