Shailene Woodley Disinterested in 'Divergent''s TV Aspirations
The Divergent Series is doomed, it's fair to say. The series has been pulled from big screen prospects and will finish up its run on television, though it all seems up in the air at the moment.
The intention is to birth the final film on TV before spinning that out into a series. But the headline actors didn't know a thing about it at the time, and now Shailene Woodley is less impressed with the idea.
"Last I heard they were trying to make it into a television show. I didn’t sign up to be in a television show. Out of respect to the studio and everyone in involved, they may have changed their mind and may be doing something different, but I’m not necessarily interested in doing a television show."
Both Miles Teller and Ansel Elgort have said similar things, suggesting that the final film may be without its star trio. It's fair to say that this thing is now a complete disaster, and it might just need to be buried now.
Lionsgate's next step will be an interesting one. We'll be keeping an eye on proceedings.
