'Slenderman' Movie Gets a Director
This year, HBO is set to debut their documentary, Beware the Slenderman, taking a close look at the shocking story of two girls who stabbed a friend nineteen times to appease the mythical icon.
Next up for Slenderman, though, is a fictional big screen event from Screen Gems. The thriller has landed The Losers director Sylvain White to helm the project, and production is being eyed for a spring start date.
David Birke penned the script, which follows the "tall, thin horrifying figure with unnaturally long arms and a featureless face, who is reputed to be responsible for the haunting and disappearance of countless children and teens.” It's being conceived as a multi-platform franchise.
