'Soul Surfer' Director Sean McNamara to Helm 'Reagan' Biopic
Soul Surfer helmer Sean McNamara has signed on for the upcoming Ronald Reagan biopic, which launches production next spring.
The indie film will cover the titular man's life from his teenage years through to becoming the 40th president in 1981, as seen through the eyes of the KGB agent assigned to follow him during his presidency of the Screen Actors Guild between 1947 and 1952.
Reagan testified in 1947 as a friendly witness at the start of hearings that lead to the creation of the Hollywood Blacklist. Howie Klausner is writing the script. The budget for the film sits at $25 million.
