'Star Trek Discovery' Adds Three Klingons to Cast
Star Trek Discovery is finally adding cast members, with Chris Obi, Shazad Latiif, and Mary Chieffo all joining the series as members of the Klingon race.
Obi plays a “Klingon leader seeking to unite the Klingon houses.” Latif plays “the Commanding Officer of the Klingons and protégé of T’Kuvma.” And Chieffo is “the Battle Deck Commander of the Klingon ship.”
It follows the prior casting of Michelle Yeo as Captain Georgiou, as well as Anthony Rapp as the openly gay Lt. Stamets. Doug Jones rounds out the first wave of casting, as Lt. Saru. The female lead of the series has yet to be cast.
