'Star Wars Rebels' May Revisit 'Rogue One's' Climactic Battle of Scarif
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story features a few nods to Star Wars Rebels, the Disney XD series which is set only a few years prior to the latest big screen event. Executive producer Dave Filoni has addressed the close proximity of the two timelines, and hasn't ruled out a crossover of sorts.
The Ghost, a familiar ship for Rebels fans, is spotted on Yavin 4 at Rebel headquarters, and features in the final battle above Scarif. “I already have some theories about the story behind it,” Filoni said. "I can imagine doing that entire [Scarif] battle from their point of view, whoever is on the Ghost at that point.”
The film also reveals the future of a character named Hera Syndulla, whose name is called in a page during the battle over the intercom. “The movie gives that away, but I would rather have all the [references] be right,” he said. “Hera will eventually become a general in the Rebel Alliance.”
