Terence Malick's Next Feature 'Song to Song' Gets Release Date and First Image
Terence Malick's next film is on the way. Titled Song to Song, changed from Weightless, will arrive March 17, 2017, via Broad Green Pictures. The director comes off his most recent picture, Knight of Cups, which arrived early last year.
The new film stars Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender and Rooney Mara. The stellar cast fills a picture that is describes as a "modern love story set against the Austin, Texas music scene," and follows "two entangled couples - struggling songwriters Faye (Rooney Mara) and BV (Ryan Gosling), and music mogul Cook (Michael Fassbender) and the waitress whom he ensnares (Natalie Portman) — chase success through a rock ‘n’ roll landscape of seduction and betrayal.”
Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benicio Del Toro, Boyd Holbrook, Val Kilmer, Bérénice Marlohe and Holly Hunter have all been slated for appearances in the film, though Malick is apparently a frequent cutter of actors in his pictures, so who knows.
