Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment unveiled our long-awaited first look at John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and let me just say, the end product feels like an anxiety-laced timebomb about to unleash one helluva fever dream.
While words alone won't adequately do this trailer justice, fans can take solace knowing our excommunicado assassin takes full advantage of Winston’s one hour professional courtesy, ultimately fighting his way out of the Big Apple overseas to the Middle East. And by full advantage, we’re talking the stuff of legend, like death by HARDCOVER book?!?
Of course, with a $14 million dollar bounty and practically every world assassin wanting a piece, John will need all the professional courtesy's he can get, including help from Anjelica Huston and Halle Berry’s characters, whom both share a past long before John was coined the Baba Yaga.
Two wild cards who may be on Team Wick are Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, along with Charon (Lance Reddick), the Continental’s most trusted intermediary, who voices his concern over John's ability to “make it out” alive. According to Winston (Ian McShane), “the odds are about even”.
Which pretty much says all you need to know whether or not Winston is on Team Wick as opposed to the High Table, who comprise over 80% of the film's cast, including newcomers Asia Kate Dillon (Billions) as “The Adjudicator,” Mark Dacascos (Brotherhood of the Wolf) as a stone cold assassin named “Zero,” Jason Mantzoukas (The House) as the “Tick Tock Man," a pair of baddies from The Raid franchise Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman, Tiger Hu Chen (Man of Tai Chi), and Hiroyuki Sanada (Ronin 47).
What were Winston’s last words after John said “he will kill them all” in Chapter 2?
“Of course.”
