'The Jetsons" Live Action Series Gets A Pilot Order at ABC
The Jetsons have scored a pilot order at ABC.
The sitcom will based on the classic Hanna Barbera cartoon, and it will be a multi-camera sitcom that is set 100 years into the future and follows the exploits of the Jetsons family.
Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke will executive produce. Family Guy's Gary Janetti will write and executive produce. Jackie Levine will serve as co-executive producer. Warner Bros. Television will produce in association with Nickelby Inc. and Compari.
Warner Bros. who own the Hanna Barbera library are working on a animated Jetsons film. So ABC wouldn't be getting a whole live-action Hanna Barbera universe unless Warner Bos. gives their blessing.
The original series was started in 1962 and aired on ABC. It was later revived by creator Hanna Barbera in 1985. Many studios have tried to do new projects about The Jetsons. Let's see if this works out.
