'The Walking Dead' Alum Michael Cudlitz to Star in ABC Pilot 'The Trustee'
Michael Cudlitz departed The Walking Dead in last year's premiere, but he'll be back in action on the small screen in ABC's upcoming broadcast comedy pilot. The Trustee is an hourlong project for which Cudlitz has signed on to star, reports Variety.
Described as a fun female buddy cop comedy, the pilot follows a stubborn detective who finds unlikely aid from her precinct's trustee, a larger-than-life ex-con finishing her prison sentence by doing menial tasks for the police department. The duo's completely opposing views on crime and punishment make for an entertaining and surprisingly successful partnership.
Cudlitz will play Timothy Waits, a wry and sardonic police captain who learns to appreciate Eliza Radley's (Meaghan Rath) unorthodox policing methods.
It's written by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, who will also executive produce alongside Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman.
