Tom Cruise's 'Edge of Tomorrow' Sequel Finds its Writersby HaydnSpurrell
Warner Bros. sequel to the Tom Cruise-Emily Blunt time travel film Edge of Tomorrow has found its writers, with Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse signed on to pen the script.
The duo previously scripted the recent film Race, and will tackle the continuation of a story that earned $370 million worldwide. The film takes place in a futuristic earth invaded by aliens, and follows Cruise's character who finds himself in a time loop that sends him back to the previous day every time he dies.
Reports have also surfaced via Comicbook that, despite contrary beliefs, Christopher McQuarrie will not be directing the sequel. Instead, Doug Liman will continue what he started in the original to continue the tale. It seems the director will be filling the time that's freed up in the wake of Channing Tatum's Gambit being delayed.
