UFC's Conor McGregor No Longer Bringing the Fight to HBO's 'Game of Thrones'

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Late last year it was heavily reported that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor would be taking on a mystery role in the seventh season of HBO's Game of Thrones, news that was confirmed by UFC president Dana White.

But the MMA fighter has interviewed with Good Times Network, revealing that while White and UFC owners Ari Emauel and Patrick Whitesell asked him to appear on the show once, straight after a fight, he declined. That was the end of that, until the story got out.

"I'm banged up, my shin's in a heap, I've been kicking his knee straight for 25 minutes, me leg's in bits, and [White]'s trying to offer me a Game of Thrones role," he said. "And I'm looking at him saying, 'Listen, come at me with the s—- I want to hear. I'm not trying to be in show business, I'm trying to be in the fight business. Come at me with a real number to fight again.

"So that was the only time I ever heard the word Games of Thrones, and it went everywhere like months later! So I don't know where that came from. But I've never been in contact with nobody from Game of Thrones and now I'm starring in Game of f—-ing Thrones!"

To conclude, McGregor said, "Don't believe everything you hear!"
