Chloe Moretz on playing Isabelle, Martin Scorsese and the script of Hugo

Chloe Moretz interview about her role in Hugo. She plays Isabelle, who befriends Hugo Cabret.

"Isabelle is a really interesting character to play for me. Not only because of the British accent that I had to do in it. But because she's a very naive young adventurous, spontaneous type girl. She very book-smart. And she loves big words, she loves them." Chloe says she learned a lot from Isabelle.

She also talks about the relationship between Isabelle and Hugo. There's like brother and sister, partners in crime. It's all about love, she says.

After she read the script, she wanted to do it. Martin Scorsese helped, but the script and the character is what made her do it.

Chloe Moretz tricked Martin Scorsese into thinking she was British. She really liked the mood he created on the set. "He makes everyone feel equal. No matter who you are. No matter how big you are. No matter how famous you are. No matter how iconic you are."

She also talks about filming in 3D and how you can't overact. The camera sees everything.
