Jeremy Renner on director Brad Bird and jumping onto the fan in Mission: Impossible 4

Jeremy Renner: Brandt, being an annalist, is sort of a very seemingly tight wound desk guy, who is smart as a whip. And that's his job. And very analytical and not very emotional about things. But you slowly start to see, not the unraveling, but the revealing of what, I suppose, of who he really is.

If you look at any of Brad Bird's movies, which I all think are genius in their own right. There's a true line of his sensibility and sense of humor. And that is definitely rampart, I believe, in this.

Brad Bird brought his sensibility, his, as any director does, very specific vision. Watch The Incredibles. That seems like Mission to me. It really does. It has that sort of wonderfully time spent with character and sensibility and sense of humor. And then when the action is there, it's hot. It's on fire and it's pretty intense.

The relay room is a massive compute array, where I have to use this gadget, again, this magnetic suit. And there's this little rover, that's magnetic and I just float around on this thing. That's in theory what's supposed to happen. Otherwise, if it doesn't work I fall onto this fan. It's probably 15 feet round and spinning like a blender.
