Walt Disney Animation Studio Reveals 'Gigantic'

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter Last night during the Walt Disney Animation Panel at Disney's D23 Expo, a Disney fan convention, a new project was revealed to the world.

Last night during the Walt Disney Animation Panel, Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter took the stage and announced that they have been working on an adaptation based on the classic fairy tale 'Jack and The Beanstalk.' After he announced that the film would be titled 'Gigantic,' he also revealed that 'Tangled' Director Nathan Greno would direct the upcoming film. Not to mention the award winning music duo from the movie 'Frozen,' Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, will be writing the music for the film.

Nathan Greno revealed some of the details about Gigantic

The movie is set in Spain during the "Age of Exploration." It will follow a boy named Jack and his discovery of giants within the clouds. Jack soon develops a friendship with a female giant named Inma. She is 11 year's old and 60 feet tall and she is very controlling of Jack. Meanwhile there are villains, "The Storm Giants," which stand 120 feet tall.

'Gigantic' will be coming to theaters in 2018.
