'Westworld' Hits HBO Premiere Ratings High since 'True Detective'
If the ratings numbers for the latest HBO premiere is any indication, Westworld has every chance of being the network's next big winner.
The sci-fi drama debut saw 3.3 million total viewers across cable and digital tune in for the Sunday night premiere, the best performance for a new series since True Detective two years ago.
These numbers soar past the Martin Scorsese-produced Vinyl, which debuted last year to 1.4 million viewers for its opening night. That show crashed and burned before being cancelled.
Westworld has had enormous buzz surrounding it for some time, and though it saw a difficult path to premiering, it seems that the wait was worth it, and it's paid off for everybody.
