'Zootopia' Leads Annie Award Nominations
The award-season is just around the corner, and the Annie Award nominees are in, which seek the best in animated films and television. We can expect a bit of a glimpse at what we can expect at the Oscars, though the nominees here don't always reflect what goes on at the Academy.
Zootopia leads the pack with 11 nominations, while stop-motion Kubo and the Two Strings won itself 10. Finding Dory, a big winner at the box office, only earned the 3, while Moana won itself 6 nominations for Disney, which keeps going from strength to strength at a laughable rate.
Studio Ghibli's The Red Turtle won five nominations, while Kung Fu Panda 3 and Trolls earned 4 and The Secret Life of Pets, 2. Sausage Party earned just the 1.
