ABC cancels the hilarious, musical show Galavant

ABC Cancels 'Galavant'

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter It's the time of the year where ABC decides what they are renewing and what shows they're canceling. Sadly one of my favorite shows got the short end of the stick and did not get renewed.

Galavant was created by Dan Fogelman, and the catchy songs were composed by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. The show ran for two seasons and it was used as the mid-season replacement for Once Upon A Time.

The cast was phenomenal with Josh Sasse playing the ambitious Galavant. Karen David played Princess Isabella and she was Galavant’s true love. Galavant's Squire Sid was portrayed by Luke Youngblood, Timothy Omundson as the comedic King Richard, Mallory Jansen as Madalena the Evil Queen, and Vinnie Jones as the brute Gareth.

Galavant was loved by critics and was adored on social media. Sadly Galavant faced major competition in the ratings including NFL Football, Golden Globes, and Fear the Walking Dead.

The show did boast an impressive list of guest stars; Kylie Minogue, John Stamos, Ricky Gervais, and "Weird" Al Yankovic.

Galavant was a witty, creative show. Yes it was in a tough time slot, which led to its demise, but maybe the world isn’t ready for an awe-inspiring, comedy-musical on their TV.
