AMC Orders Ten-Episode First Season for 'Preacher'
An adaptation of the wildly popular DC Comics/Vertigo comic book series has received a ten-episode order from AMC.
'Preacher' was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and the television adaptation was developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Sam Catlin is the series' showrunner.
'Preacher' follows Jesse Custer, a preacher who is possessed by a strange entity, and with an unorthodox team behind him he sets out to find... God.
As with a lot of comics, the story is crazy, which makes it absolutely exciting. Given that AMC has had such enormous success with their other comic book property, 'The Walking Dead', they'll no doubt be excited about what this new series can offer.
Season 1 is set to premiere mid-2016.
