Avatar 2 Delayed, Won't go Up Against Star Wars December 2017
When the Star Wars sequel was pushed back to a December 2017 release, concern spread through the fanbase at the prospect of the film going up against the long gestating Avatar sequel.
Now, it's been revealed that while director James Cameron had highlighted a 2017 holiday season release, Fox never set an official release date.
But Cameron has also made it clear that a uniform release schedule for the first, second, and third sequel is more important than a timely release of the first one itself.
Therefore, no release date should be expected until there is a guaranteed release time for Avatar 3 and 4 at the same time.
All three films are being shot back-to-back-to-back using the most advanced technology available. When they eventually hit screens, they will (at least visually) have been worth the wait.
