Batman v Superman Defies Critics, Opens Big Internationally
In its opening two days at the international box office, Batman v Superman has taken an impressive $44 million having debuted on 19,700 screens in 38 territories.
Mexico saw it open to $5.8 million, and saw record-breaking midnight showings. This makes it the biggest opening day for a Warner Bros. title and the second-biggest of all time. In Brazil, a record was also set with a $3.5 million take debuting on 1,331 screen.
Germany saw $2.8 million debuting on 1,015 screens, while Australia supplied a massive $2.5 million debuting on just 594 screens, topping the nearest title by over 500%.
