'Black Panther' Star Likens the MCU Film to 'Game of Thrones'
Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya, who is part of the incredible cast lined up for Black Panther, has made a bold claim when hyping up the upcoming solo film, comparing it to beloved HBO series Game of Thrones.
Speaking to GQ, Kaluuya likened the scope to Thrones. “This is an African blockbuster, bruv. This is like Game of Thrones. This is crazy. And Ryan Coogler is just, man dem. He’s like us! He’s a normal dude, in a Golden State hat and a Tupac T-shirt directing the whole set. It’s the most beautiful thing to see.”
Coogler penned the script on top of his directing duties, and the film follows up his work on Creed nad Fruitvale Station to be far and away his biggest work so far in terms of scale. The film takes place after Captain America: Civil War, nearly exclusively in the advanced African nation of Wakanda.
