Cheryl Boon Isaacs Gets Her Fourth and Final Term as Academy President
Cheryl Boone Isaacs has been elected for a fourth one-year term as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, set to be her final year in the position.
Seven new names were voted into the Board of Directors recently, including Steven Spielberg and Laura Dern, and a vote conducted by that same board saw Isaacs remain in her position.
Boone has been open about her commitment to a diversity program which launched in the wake of the past two years and the public outcry that's resulted from a lack of diverse representation in the acting categories.
“We have a goal, and we are going to continue to work as hard as we can to meet that goal."
